‘Tis the season for family get-togethers…which means extended family sessions! The holidays bring out the best in us (real talk though…sometimes the worst), but the Routen Family only brought good spirits and lots of laughs to their session at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve!

 

Photographer's Tip – I think we all know how hard it can be to get all of your family together to schedule family photos. There's always someone missing, whether they have work or live far away. Whatever the reason, if you can get your whole family together during the holidays (or any other special occasion), use it as the perfect opportunity to get those much needed family pictures booked! It might be tough to coordinate, but years down the road you'll be so grateful to have those images and memories to look back on!

 

We arrived at our location to a delightful surprise of confetti all over the ground. Someone must have had a great time before our arrival! Thankfully we got all the benefit of it because the kids had so much fun collecting the confetti between shots. It kept them entertained – and let's be real, kids can get antsy halfway through a session. It was a blessing and a total win for us!

Between gathering confetti bits and corralling up kiddos, you could just see the love this family has for each other through their interactions. Like I said, the holidays bring out the best in us, and I'm so grateful to get to be a part of it.
