Not sure about you, but I love learning by watching others. I enjoy seeing the behind the scenes and planning in advance. Today you get to do just that! You’ll see how I begin planning out my 2022 Photography Business.
And since we are planning photography I wanted to give you my new $3K Mini Sessions Blueprint. This is a FREE guide that lays it all out for you to score big on your mini sessions! I’m talking $3000 on your first 2-3hr. set! You can use it over and over again and really find a rhythm for yourself. Free resources are a no brainer, so be sure to grab it!
While I’m known as the Queen of Minis, Kat Schmoyer is the Calendar Girl! Her wall calendars are a MUST HAVE. I use both her quarterly and yearly calendars. Here’s a trick, frame it and use a wet erase markers so you can jot down all the notes. You can and should get your calendars HERE!
Now, when it comes to planning I start with the big picture. Ever heard of the illustration with a vase, rocks and sand? Fill your calendar with the bigger events or the priorities: birthdays, family vacations, holidays, etc. I believe in having a work-life balance. Schedule in your time off and make time for what matters to you. Then, pencil in your minis! That allows you to plan backward for marketing.
Knowing your goals and seeing the big picture allows you to plan from month to month, then week to week and day to day. Remember, start with the priorities, pencil in your plan and feed into it with marketing. When you’ve penciled in your minis you can work backward from that date. You can schedule when you need to get promo shots, when you need to market to the public, etc. Another aspect of marketing I like to plan out is priming. Pro-tip: a few weeks before marketing for your upcoming minis or senior sessions start priming your audience. Start talking about what’s coming so they’re ready for the idea of mini sessions. Something you can do if you have a blog is answer some of those client questions like “why do I need Spring Minis if I just did Fall Minis?” in your off-seasons.
I’ve got more to share on planning out my 2022 Photography Business so watch this video and don’t forget to like and share if you find it helpful! This helps others find it and grow too!
