Here we are with another gorgeous Behind the Lens session featuring Katelyn James herself! I was thrilled to be able to capture her sweet family, which includes 3 littles – two boys and one girl. I have looked up to Katelyn for quite some time now. She's a wife, mom and business owner! I speak from experience when I say kids will keep you busy! But, capturing moments like this make it all the while! I'm thrilled to share this Virginia spring family session with you!

Family Spring Session | The Alsop Family | Richmond, VA

I was honored to get together with Katelyn James (a major photography educator) and not only capture a beautiful session but feature it in my Behind the Lens membership! Not only do you get to see the full gallery, but you can slip behind the scenes in this session from start to finish. I used my favorite posing prompts to get those honest candid photos. And with those kiddos you can see how we accomplished to get them to look AND smile. Which allowed us to avoid face swapping!

This family made it easy to navigate through the session and just look at the love between them all! I have all the respect for Katelyn and was honored to be able to be their family photographer. The setting had beautiful light, but we got started a bit later than we had hoped. I've actually got a YouTube video showing you how I turned some of those neon greens (due to the time of day) into flattering, pleasant colors. I'm so happy with how this all turned out, it will definitely be a session I never forget!
