I met the Case family back in 2020 when I shot Red Truck minis in Franklin, TN. They reached out to me to capture their daughter's smash cake session! I was SO thrilled to celebrate Makenzie's first birthday with the Case's and this session did NOT disappoint. There were so many things happening at once and I can't wait to share all about Makenzie's smash cake session with you all!

There were DUCKS that would NOT leave us alone!! We set up near the pond at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, TN and it must have been prime swimming time for the ducks because they tried HARD to intrude on our session. Thankfully, we had extra hands to help shoo them away, although you might see them in the back of some of the photos we captured!

Makenzie's mom had the SWEETEST little tea party setup for the beginning of the session. It was adorable! She brought bunnies to partake in the tea party with Makenzie with the cutest little tea set with pink balloons to top it all off. We also set up a blanket for a few photos before we started the smash cake as well!

Makenzie was not really feeling the cake once her mom sat it in front of her. She warmed up to the idea very quickly and you can see that she devoured it very quickly. That's what we want for a smash cake session! She had a BLAST and had no idea that there were ducks coming around to ruin her photos. She was focused on the cake and nothing else.
