Charlotte is ONE! I can't believe this sweet little girl is already a year old. I've been photographing her family for years, so when Stephanie told me Charlotte's first birthday was coming up and they needed a cake smash, I was all in. Stephanie and I planned a gorgeous and simple Studio House cake smash for Charlotte's portraits. I absolutely love working at Studio House in McKinney, TX – it's the perfect natural light studio for moments like this.
Studio House Cake Smash
At the start of our session, we began with classic milestone portraits. One thing I love about cake smashes is that while the cake is a ton of fun, it's about more than just dessert. It's about capturing the last milestone of your baby's first year. They're one. So many big changes have happened for them – and the whole family – over the last 12 months and now, we're documenting it! We're showing off those walking skills, the beautiful baby laughs, and their personalities. And these sessions are always a great time too because you never know what's going to happen. Charlotte, as a matter of fact, wasn't super interested in her cake. But, she loved playing with her decorations! It didn't matter: either way, we loved capturing this sweetheart for her birthday photos.
Stephanie and I decided to keep things simple for Charlotte. She had gorgeous pink and gold details for her session, and we even found the cutest tutu, gold crown, and necklace. Charlotte looked like such a little princess! I can't believe she's already one. Where did the time go? Happy birthday, Charlotte!
